Pakistan Flood Relief Fundraiser

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

14 % of Pakistan's population, so approximately 33 million people have been affected by the recent floods in Pakistan. Andrew Douglas-Clifford (Cartographer & Geospatial Analyst) created a map to compare these floods to the size of Aotearoa New Zealand. According to this map, this natural disaster in Pakistan in comparison would be the size of Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago regions combined. The idea of such a large-scale displacement is hard to comprehend on this side of the world.

Come join us for a conversation with these familiar faces hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in New Zealand.

Speakers:

  1. Ali Ikram, Writer and Broadcaster
  2. Pax Assadi, Comedian
  3. Ed Amon, Comedian
  4. Tayyaba Khan, Founder of Khadija Leadership Network

With your host for the evening, Mahvash Ikram (Senior Producer, RNZ)

All ticket sales will go towards immediate flood relief efforts in Pakistan through INGO's like UNICEF (providing safe drinking water for children and families), & IFRC (for humanitarian aid).
