Palette Knife Painting with Acrylics

Learn a new technique! palette knife painting is fun and the knives can be used with or without brushes. Art work can be loose or detailed.

What will be covered in this course?

• Palette knife painting techniques

• The use of transparent, translucent and opaque paints for layering techniques

• Painting abstracts, florals, patterns, land and seascapes, faces, animals and birds.

By the end of this course students will:

Feel confident in using palette knives with acrylic paints

LOCATION: Woolgoolga Gallery, 73 Turon Parade Woolgoolga

TIME: Friday mornings 9:30 am to 12:30

DURATION: 6 weeks

REQUIRED MATERIALS

• Palette Knives – metal are best eg Mont Marte

• 4 canvases or canvas boards approx. A5, A4, A3 and larger than A3

• Acrylic paints and brushes

• A4 visual diary, paper towel, water jar, apron or shirt to cover clothes

ABOUT THE TUTOR

Evelyn is an experienced tutor who discovered her passion for art 13 years ago. She completed a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Visual Art and a Diploma in Ceramics at Coffs Harbour TAFE. Evelyn started teaching acrylics at Woolgoolga Art Gallery in 2016.
