Accidental Counsellor Training for Palliative Care Volunteers
About: Palliative care volunteers are often present in the lives of people who are struggling to cope with end-of-life approaching. This workshop will help you be more confident in responding to the
expressed emotions and needs of clients and equip you to work effectively with people who may be distressed or in crisis.Â
Topics include:
- Communication
- Reflective listening
- Limit setting
- Boundaries
- Dealing with crisis
- Debriefing
- Self-care
Who: Palliative care volunteers
Cost: Free, although registration is essential. Complimentary morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Time: 9:30AM - 4:00PM
Location: HammondCare Head Office: 4/207B Pacific Highway, St Leonards NSW. Level 3 - Stewart & Walder training room. On the day, please meet us on Level 4 and we will be able to direct you to the Stewart & Walder training room on level 3.
How to get there: Closest train station is St Leonards Train station (2 minute walk) otherwise if you decide to drive, the Forum Car Park (entrance via Chandos St) provides 3+ hours parking for $14.Â
