Event description

To honour the invaluable work of volunteers during National Volunteer Week, Palliative Care NSW with support from Palliative Care Australia are hosting a PalliLEARN short course titled "How to Talk About Dying and Grief."

Palliative care volunteers often encounter tough situations where they must engage with individuals who are nearing the end of life, along with their families, caregivers, and loved ones. This short course will provide valuable communication techniques to foster a compassionate atmosphere for discussions around grief, death and dying.

  • Develop the confidence to initiate and navigate conversations about dying and grief
  • Learn strategies to listen and respond compassionately
  • Recognise the importance of following up and self-care for those involved in the conversation
