PalliLEARN
Introductory easy-to-understand courses for building the skills and awareness to support and care for those who are living with a life-limiting illness, dying or grieving.
Each course runs for 60-minutes.
Who:
Anyone is able to register for the courses. There is no requirement for training or experience within the health or palliative care space. The courses are designed for the community and are great for anyone who is a carer or family member of someone with a life-limiting illness, or anyone needing introductory level palliative care awareness.
You can register to any course that interests you.
Cost:
No cost if you live in NSW (if you live in another state, please refer to PalliLEARN in respective state or visit www.palilearn.org)
Where: Online via Zoom. Sessions are interactive and participants will be asked to engage in activities, chat and polls.

- Collaboratively work together to identify an individual’s care needs
- How you can plan to meet individual’s needs in 5 simple steps.

- Practical tips on how to have caring and compassionate conversations about dying, death and grief with:

- Practical tips on how to have a simple and honest conversations with teenagers and children about serious illness, dying, death and grief.

- Build your skills and awareness around compassionate communities
- Ideas to nurture compassionate communities in your local area
- Accessing the communities to support people experiencing serious illness, dying, death and grief.
How to Nurture Compassion - 11th of March 2025 11:00AM – 12:00PM (AEDT)
What you will learn:
- Overview of compassion
- How we recognise suffering
- Practical examples of compassion in action
Self-Care - 25th of March 2025 11:00AM – 12:00PM (AEDT)
What you will learn:
- Strategies and ideas on how you can incorporate self-care in your life particularly if caring for someone with a life-limiting illness.
