Event description

Free Palmerston workshop series to help families build resilience, safety and stronger connections

Darwin Youth Services (DYS) is launching a free three-part community workshop series at Gray Community Hall to equip families, carers and educators with practical tools for online safety, resilience and respectful relationships.

Starting in October 2026, the Palmerston Community Development Sessions will run on Tuesdays 7, 14 and 21 October from 6:00–7:30 PM. The sessions bring together the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Darwin Youth Services, and community partners including the NO MORE Campaign, Noone Left Behind, Catholic Care, local schools and the City of Palmerston.

  • Oct 7: ThinkUKnow – Keeping Young People Safe Online (AFP – Saisha Khanna)

  • Oct 14: Resilience & Wellbeing (Preston Watts Jnr)

  • Oct 21: Breaking the Silence: Real Conversations with Young People (Sarah Austin, DYS)

Designed to build week-to-week, the series moves from online safety, to strengthening resilience, to opening up honest conversations about respect, safety and help-seeking. Light catering will be provided, with thanks to local partners.
