    Want to know more about what to expect from your first production?

    Join us for a panel with Izzy Gough, Daniel Pirie, and Parasol Wu who will talk about their first professional opportunities in Scottish theatre design.

    Tickets are pay what you can, starting at £5. 

    Isadora Gough (Set & Costume design)

    Izzy Gough is a Set and Costume Designer, originally from Salisbury and now based in Glasgow. Having graduated with her BA in Production Design from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2023, she is working now across theatre, film, and live music events. 

    She is interested in creating playful and immersive worlds, which are innovative in their sustainability, and which open themselves up widely and warmly to the communities in which the work is made.

    She has recently designed on Many Good Men at Tynecastle Park, and Play Pretend by Katie Fraser, produced by Framework Theatre at Traverse Theatre 2023.

    Daniel Pirie (Lighting design)

    Daniel is an early career lighting designer with an interest in new writing. He has a wealth of experience as a lighting technician, having worked on projects across the world including 4 UK tours and the US premier of Everybody’s Talking about Jamie.

    He uses this technical experience to find solutions to creative challenges on his projects and works with colour and texture to highlight the intention of the theatrical event. Daniel most recently developed the lighting design for The Wound, the Rag, and the In-Between by Annie MacDonald, produced by Vivid Roots Collective at Eden Court Theatre 2024. 

    Parasol Wu (Sound design)

    Parasol Wu works with live sound reinforcement, sound design, studio recording, concert mixing, and more, aiming to create exceptional sound experiences that resonate deeply with audiences.

    As a professional member of ASDP and AES, Parasol has worked on numerous acclaimed productions, including 5-star theatre productions Through the Mud by Stellar Quines.She holds a Master’s degree in Sound Design and a Bachelor's in Recording Arts (Sound Production)

    Through Sound Behind Curtain Parasol nurtures emerging talents and advances the careers of young and Asian artists. Passionate about immersive sound technology, she envisions it as a cornerstone of her artistic journey, constantly exploring new avenues for creative expression.
