How payment plans work

  • Your order will be reserved but sent to you only after the full payment plan has been completed.
  • A minimum upfront payment is required to secure your order. This includes a surcharge, a non-refundable cancellation fee, and a refundable deposit.
  • You’ll receive a notification before each payment attempt. You must ensure sufficient funds are available.

Event description

The Papakura Community Network invites the Papakura community  to participate in an online programme for board members and managers of community and  not for profit organisations.

This programme will:

  • Build your skills, knowledge and expertise in governance
  • help you to deepen your understanding of your roles and responsibilities as a board member
  • Provide an opportunity for you to join others in exploring the context and environment your organisations are  leading in
  • Enable you to make connections and build your networks with others doing similar work to you

The programme consists of four 2 hour zoom sessions over four months with a follow up 1 hour session shortly after.

    This programme is free to participate in. You will be sent further information and  a link to join the workshop when you register

    There are two opportunities for you to participate in, either a Wednesday evening or a Saturday morning.

    Cohort Tahi: Getting it right

    Session 1: Searching for the Unicorn; Wednesday, March 23; 6pm to 8pm

    • Stories of success in Papakura
    • What value do our boards add?
    • Exploring myths of good governance

    Session 2: Know Your Numbers; Wednesday, April 20; 6pm to 8pm

    • Understanding Finances for board members
    • Exploring financial oversight
    • Monitoring and controls

    Session 3: Manager/Board partnership; Wednesday May 18; 6pm to 8pm

    • Leading together
    • Communicating well
    • Building a positive working relationship
    • Reporting

    Session 4: Getting off the dance floor onto the balcony; Wednesday June 15; 6pm to 8pm

    • Strategic awareness
    • Creating generative question
    • Measuring results

    Final session; Wednesday, July 20; 6pm to 7pm

    • Succession planning, orientation, and training

    Session 4: Cheering on the Chairs; June 25; 10am to 12noon

    • Skills  to effectively lead your  governance teams
    • Facilitating effective decision making
    • Coaching approaches

    Final session: Saturday, July 30; 10am to 11am
