Event description

Parallel and Intertwined Recordings welcomes you to a night of underground sensory delights made possible by Naarm and Gadigal based artists.

_____________________________________________________________

MABEL:

Head of Doglandiya imprint, DJ and producer of a string of universally acclaimed releases. A sound profile located somewhere under the umbrellas of psytrance and techno. Her femme-forward sound, both hypnotic and high-energy, has made her a staple in Australia's electronic scene and a growing name in Europe, with standout performances at Mala Junta, Harmony Records, and more. Her discography includes acclaimed EPs like Archangel, Stagediver, Hybrid, and Pleasure Phonetix, showcasing her signature syncopated rhythms and trippy textures.

DJ SCORPION:
The solo project of Amelia Jenner, Music Director of FBi Radio, label boss and radio host of cult Australian electronic label Body Promise and co-founder of the NECTAR agency. Not content with sticking with any one genre, DJ Scorpion’s sets span anything from dub to bass, dubstep, jungle, breaks, and techno.

WXY:

WXY, the Sydney/Eora mainstay is premiering his live performance. Designed and composed 100% by WXY, the performance will feature an assortment of works from the past year that evolve around punchy tech house & electro.

The performance begins with a sonic tapestry of tranquil synths, leading into a journey of bouncy four by four, annexed with characteristics of prog and psy. Paired with the trusty MPC1000, the vintage sounding percussion complements the cosmic sounds of WXY.

WXY translates his knowledge as a classically trained musician, incorporating classical and contemporary composition techniques into his own unique style of music.

MI.KEY:

Gadigal born with Chinese roots, mi.key’s sets balance dynamic synths and techno with warehouse breaks and thumping basslines. Between playing at some of Gadigal's biggest venues and a myriad of underground raves and festivals, supporting the likes of dameeeela, Moopie, Luen and Sleep D, he’s confident in getting the crowd moving. As he readies an EP release this year, watch out for unreleased tracks being tested on soundscapes near you.

ROWHAN:

Founder of Intertwined Recordings and one of the minds behind Extract The Motion, Rowhan is well versed as a selector of all sounds. With foundations in 90’s tech house that developed into an unapologetic appetite for gritty breaks and bass, he’s known for his ability to thread the needle across genres and soundscapes thus making a name for himself as a complete all-rounder. His production reflects this.

He’s supported the likes of Olsvanger, Holly Lester, Phasmid, Blu:sh, Fio Fa, Gear Master (fka Abdul Raeva) and hosted the likes of Sedef Adasi, Kessler, Assembler Code, DJ Scorpion, DJRUM, AK Sports and - to name a few.
