Event description

This exhibition is proud to be a part of the IOTA24 Festival, supported by Lotterywest.

Parallel Codes / Sustain is an international group exhibition that features large-scale textile artworks in response to the idea of sustainability across not only the environment and its flora and fauna, but also the sustainability of communities and traditions.

It includes work from artists who re-purpose found materials as textile/sculptural form; artists who use ancient techniques to express issues of contemporary concern, artists who engage with communities, sustaining their work and traditions of art making, and; artists who observe the land as a way to understand change.

The selected artists range from Western and Northern Australia, to India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Artists : Nyukana Baker, Maggie Baxter, Morii Design, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Yipati Kuyata, Lawrence Leslie, Lisa Mori, Dias Prabu and Yim Yen Sum
