DISCOUNTED SERIES PASS AVAILABLE HERE

For the second edition, we'll be immersed in the richness of strings and winds in two exciting duo projects.

Sam Gill & Joseph Franklin

Sam Gill - saxophones
Joseph Franklin - semi-hollow bass guitar

Franklin | Gill is the collaborative project of Sydney-based saxophonist Sam Gill and Joseph Franklin on semi-hollow bass guitar, from Melbourne and currently based in Boston. Since coming together in 2018, they have developed a unique duo language that draws on the sonic possibilities of their instruments, moving between shimmering densities, textural drones and free-flowing lyricism.

Their debut album - 2020's 'To My Left Is Where the Lake Is' - features seven improvisations recorded over the course of an afternoon in November 2019. Released during the 2020 lockdown, they've never officially held a release gig - so consider this a 5-year-late release show!

Ben Ward & Freya Schack-Arnott

Ben Ward - double bass
Freya Schack-Arnott - cello

Collaborations from Freya and Ben focus on melodies of expressive resonance and spectral tunings. Strings with dirty grains of rosin and bow hair contextualise musics that contemplate the past and project into the future.
