    Event description

Every child has the right to feel safe online and yet online safety is often the exception rather than the rule. In our upcoming Kennedy Insight, we will focus on the realm of internet safety with the help of trained educator and expert in child protection, Rebekah Nijsen, on what dangers to be aware of and how parents and guardians can start to navigate this online playground. Her professional and personal experience will help to unpack current issues in a simple and informative presentation and will be a crucial follow up to separate talks with our students, granting the opportunity for you to have deeper conversations about online use with your children.

Rebekah works at Riverview Church after previously serving in the Western Australian Police Force for 16 years as a specialist in child protection and technology crime. She has personally seen the damage caused by online predators targeting kids in social networking and online gaming platforms, and has worked hard to improve the safety of our children. Working under the banner of Lighthouse Cyber Education, she now works to educate families on how they can reduce the online risks for their children.

Please note, this event is for adults only.
