    Event description

This 90 minute workshop will introduce you to parenting strategies and concepts to support tamariki through times of change, uncertainty, heightened anxiety and trauma.

Kindred Family Services are pleased to be hosting 'Parenting Through Challenging Times’, a workshop developed and presented by Parenting Place. Through good communication skills, empathy and positive connection with our Tamariki, we can begin to build resilience for past traumas and future events that may occur.

Once upon a time, Jenny was a teacher and an educator for Parents As First Teachers. Her lifelong passion is working with families and helping them find solutions to the tricky everyday challenges that come hand-in-hand with parenting. Sheridan Eketone, Family Coach: Sheridan is passionate about shaping the hearts of the next generation through parenting. Mum of four, Sheridan is grateful to her own tamariki for teaching her the importance of connection when it comes to raising confident and resilient kids. Sheridan works as a presenter and facilitator trainer for Parenting Place, and is also a Family Coach offering one-on-one advice for parents needing support. A warm, relatable and enthusiastic communicator, Sheridan draws on ideas from the Circle of Security – an attachment based relational concept that has deeply impacted her own parenting – to empower parents to be the best they can be.
