Parenting an autistic child or a child with developmental delay can be an enriching and joyful experience, but it can also come with challenges. Parents may struggle to find support or balance the needs of the whole family. Dr Lee Sturgeon will present an informative and interactive session to support attendees to navigate this journey and assist your child to thrive.

Dr Lee Sturgeon is a Consultant Senior Clinical and Developmental Psychologist with over 27 years experience, specializing in the assessment and treatment of autistic children, adolescents and adults, and individuals with developmental delay.

Families Supporting Families (FSF) is an inclusive organisation for the WHOLE family of a child with a disability, autism or developmental delay. Formally launched in 2003, FSF is an incorporated charity organisation which offers peer-to-peer support in a friendly supportive environment, coffee mornings, occasional nights out, educational workshops with guest speakers, and school holiday events for families in the Greater Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas. Parenting a child with a disability or autism presents it's own joys and challenges, we believe a strong social network and access to relevant information can help along the way.
