Parenting Inward: A 2-part Webinar for expectant parents exploring the emotional, psychological & relational shifts of early parenthood.
Event description
Becoming a parent doesn’t just change your life, it transforms your inner world.
Parenting Inward is a two-part webinar series designed to prepare expectant parents for the emotional, psychological, and relational shifts of early parenthood. Guided by Lisa Thorpe, a registered psychologist (and mum to two little girls), this workshop offers honest insights, evidence-based tools, and reflective space to help you move into parenthood with greater self-awareness and emotional grounding.
This isn’t a class on feeding, swaddling, or sleep routines — it’s about you: your identity, your relationships, and the internal changes that come with becoming someone’s parent.

What We’ll Explore
Over two 2-hour sessions, we’ll explore:
The Emotional Landscape of Early Parenthood
Understand common emotional experiences — joy, grief, fear, ambivalence — and how to ride the waves. Learn what’s happening to your brain and body during the perinatal period, and why it matters.
Sleep Deprivation & Resilience
How sleep loss impacts your mind, mood, and nervous system — and practical ways to protect your wellbeing when rest is scarce.
Identity Shifts & Expectations
Explore how parenthood reshapes your sense of self, and how to gently challenge unrealistic internal or cultural ideals.
Strengthening the Partner Relationship
Learn about common tension points, how to communicate under stress, and how to stay emotionally connected as roles change.
Boundaries, Visitors & the Invisible Load
Discover practical ways to set boundaries, protect your space, and share the emotional and mental load without shame.
Hope, Awe & the Soft Joys
We’ll also hold space for the beautiful parts — the deepening of values, surprising joys, and quiet love that can arrive in unexpected ways.
Plus: You’ll receive a downloadable PDF workbook to support your reflections and growth throughout.
