The Way Of The Raukura screening
Description
Join us for a community screening of The Way of the Raukura, an award-winning documentary exploring the story of Parihaka and the enduring legacy of peaceful resistance led by Te Whiti o Rongomai and Tohu Kākahi.
Parihaka remains one of the most significant stories in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand. Through powerful storytelling, the film invites audiences to reflect on leadership, courage, justice and community resilience, and the lessons that continue to resonate today.
The screening provides an opportunity for Wellingtonians to learn more about this important history and its connections to our city. The evening will include a pre-film kōrero from Parihaka uri to provide historical context.
