Parihoa Ignited

As this year comes to an end, Parihoa Ignited is a three-day creative retreat for you to reflect, resource, and reignite your creativity in the peaceful beauty of Parihoa Farm. Hosted by creative facilitators Anna Barouh Davis and Marko Ayling, this immersive experience offers you the chance to slow down, reconnect, and renew your creative inspiration, vision, and purpose for 2025. 

Whether you are looking for inspiration, connection, or feeling drained or blocked, this is a supportive, playful space for people of all creative backgrounds and experiences to reconnect with their artistic voice and recommit to what is most important to them in nature and community. This is a space to reflect on the past year, unearth your creative dreams, work through your challenges and blocks, and emerge with energy, vision, and courage to bring your projects to life in the new year.

Workshop Itinerary:

In Parihoa Ignited, Anna and Marko will guide you through a range of practices — from meditations and writing prompts, to somatic exercises and deep dives into the imagination, walks in nature, and creative brainstorming sessions. You will unearth your creative dreams, navigate your creative blocks and draw on your strengths, develop a vision for the new year, and identify tangible steps you can take to realise it. This retreat will help you resource and reconnect with your creative projects and tap into the energy, strength, and courage you need to bring them to life.

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome – Check-in and ease into the retreat with an opening circle and welcome dinner. Discover the gorgeous Parihoa property before you begin your creative journey through reflective writing prompts and meditation to explore your current creative state.

Day 2: Reflect & Reconnect with Your Creativity – Activate your creative potential with writing exercises, meditations, active imaginations, and somatic movement in nature to unearth creative dreams and work through blocks. Close the day with a cacao ceremony to reflect on the past year and seed your creative vision for 2025.

Day 3: Rekindle Your Creative Fire & Vision for 2025 – Seize the last day overlooking the sea as we harness inspiration and purpose through writing, mindful movement, and dedicated time to develop your vision. Close the retreat with a meditation to identify next steps for the year ahead and a final sharing circle to inspire, commit, and create!

Your Facilitators:

Anna Barouh Davis:

Anna is a creative facilitator, creative producer and writer who supports artists to connect with their creative essence and unlock their potential. With a background in film and TV production, story development and therapy, Anna has worked with artists of all stripes to help them find their voice, navigate creative blocks, and bring their projects to life; including helping writers and filmmakers to develop short and long form literary work, TV series and films, artist’s to develop their visual and digital art, musicians their music, and entrepreneurs their ideas. Anna brings her experience as both an artist and mentor to this retreat, holding a warm and playful space for the transformative power of creativity, storytelling, and artmaking.

Marko Ayling:

Marko is an award-winning digital storyteller, producer, and travel host known for co-founding the Vagabrothers YouTube channel, which he built into a community of over 1.3 million subscribers worldwide. Marko is the host of the TV show Basic vs Baller: Travel at Any Cost and worked as a producer for Netflix’s World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals. With a background in travel, live performance, and personal development, Marko is passionate about using storytelling as a tool for personal transformation. He’s based in Mexico City, where he runs Cuéntame Storytelling and helps develop local voices for the world stage. 

Together, Anna and Marko bring a unique blend of experience and creative tools to help participants unlock their full potential in an inspiring and restorative setting

Welcome to the The Parihoa Network: Global Wellbeing Collective

This network will extend beyond Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a new-age concept that is emerging from New Zealand to the world. Its beauty lies in its focus on a whole human approach, considering each person's entire self, not just their job title, productivity, or performance. 

The value of the Network will be determined by the type of people who are part of it and the energy and intention they bring to it. Therefore, as we move from dreaming and planning into actually building the network, we are being intentional about who becomes part of our community. The priority is on finding people who share our values and vision, and who are excited about the idea of connecting with others to share ideas, stories, and energy. It has nothing to do with net worth, job title, or status, and everything to do with intention and a shared value system. Many of the people who will be interested in our work seem likely to have either experienced or be approaching an inflection point in their lives, necessitating decisions about which path to follow. 

We want to cultivate a collective of individuals from around the world, where each person is known through their connections within this central network. I envision a day when this network could evolve into its own platform, potentially reaching a million people. But for now, we are starting from the ground up, from a community of friends and friends of friends, to a wider group of people whom we don’t yet know but who share our vision.
