Parish Dinner
Event description
Our 2024 parish dinner will be with Dr Karen Pack. Karen is a religious historian, ordained minister, marriage celebrant and the President of Spiritual Care Australia.
She has a desire to empower young people as leaders, with a sense of their own value and the beauty that they bring to the world. She is a former pastor, missionary and bible college lecturer who has taught for over twenty years in Australia and internationally, training pastors and lay leaders in Africa, Asia, North America and the Middle East.
She is a sessional academic, teaching history at the University of Notre Dame and Macquarie University. She specialises in the historical intersections of gender, faith and sexuality. She is a strong advocate for young queer people of faith, inspiring them to live authentically, bravely and free.
She will talk with us about the future of the affirming church.
