Park Science: Nature's Marvellous Machines - Summer 2027
Description
Did you know nature is full of incredible inventors and engineers?
From intricate bird nests and spiderwebs to winding waterways and underground insect tunnels, the natural world is full of clever designs.
Join us for a hands-on STEAM adventure as we explore nature's amazing engineering and put our own inventive minds to work. Children will work together to design, build and test their own marvellous creations using natural and recycled materials.
Activity highlights include:
Nature's Architects: Discover how animals build their homes, then design and construct your own bushland shelter for a real or imaginary creature.
Water-Wise Inventions: Experiment with gravity and water flow to create winding waterways and clever systems that move water without wasting a drop.
Bushland Building Challenge: Become an inventor! Work together to solve a problem, sketch a blueprint and build your own machine using natural and recycled materials.
Children will get creative, solve problems and develop teamwork skills while discovering how nature inspires innovation.
Please note: Our programs are primarily child-led nature play experiences. Whilst we have planned themes, children co-create the program each day and may not engage in scheduled activities.
This program is suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years.
Creative Kids vouchers are accepted for this program.
Please provide the voucher number, name and date of birth of your child during the booking process.
Bookings will be cancelled if an invalid voucher number is provided.
