Event description

Australia is at a critical juncture in gender equity and women's welfare. Increasing rates of gender-based violence, the rise of sexist hate speech, and persistent economic disadvantage threaten the progress so many have fought for over decades.

The people we select to represent us in parliament shape the laws and policies that impact gender equity, and they also set the tone for our country. Australia's shift towards independent political candidates has helped boost the number of women in federal parliament, and with that, raise ambition for safe and fair gender equity outcomes. But this model of government is at risk.

Join us for an evening of conversation about the gender equity challenges and opportunities ahead for Australia with former MP for North Sydney, Kylea Tink, Cheek Media Co.’s Hannah Ferguson, and inclusion and ethics expert, Michelle Lim — facilitated by women’s advocate and former independent candidate, Jo Dyer.

Vida Fund is hosting this FREE event, including a drink on arrival.

Vida Fund supports independent female candidates running for election with strong gender equity platforms, to accelerate reforms that build a safer and fairer Australia for all.
