Parramatta’s Lit! Industry Day is co-curated with the local literary sector and brings writers, readers, artists and publishing professionals together for a lively day of conversations about writing, creative practice and the stories that shape our communities.

The program includes Echoes in Fiction, exploring how memory, culture, place and lived experience reverberate through fictional worlds; and Stories We Have to Tell, reflecting on the urgent stories, A discussion on Music in writing Music, Man and Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me, a candid conversation offering practical advice about writing, publishing and sustaining a creative career.

Industry Day is an opportunity to listen, learn, ask questions, meet other writers and take part in the broader literary life of Parramatta and Western Sydney.

Parramatta's Lit! is an annual literary festival celebrating the stories, voices and ideas that shape Western Sydney. Presented across libraries, heritage sites, cultural venues and public spaces throughout Parramatta, the festival brings together writers, readers, publishers and communities through a program of author talks, workshops, performances, play readings, residencies and industry events.

Developed in partnership with Baramadagal cultural knowledge holders and Elders on Dharug land, and embracing the rich cultural diversity of Parramatta, Parramatta's Lit! champions stories and writing in all its forms - from novels and poetry to playwriting, truthtelling and storytelling, multilingual writing and local zines.

Parramatta's Lit! fosters creativity, collaboration and connection while showcasing Parramatta as a place where stories are created, shared and celebrated.
