Event description

Join us as ANU Agrifood Innovation Institute welcomes International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) President Alvaro Lario, and senior representatives to share insights on IFAD’s vital work investing in rural communities - reducing poverty, improving nutrition, and increasing food production globally.

IFAD is a UN specialized agency providing low-interest loans and grants to support rural development, aiming to reduce poverty and hunger among small-scale producers in developing countries.Learn more about IFAD’s work in Asia Pacific here.

The event will also explore IFAD’s Pacific Regional Strategic Opportunities Programme (RESOP) 2025–2033, aimed at building healthier, wealthier and more resilient rural livelihoods through financial planning, knowledge exchange and strengthened partnerships.

This gathering brings together leaders from diplomatic, government, research, industry and development sectors to discuss future priorities and collaboration opportunities for agrifood systems in the Asia-Pacific region.

We would be delighted if you could join these important conversations.
