Overview 

The Partnering in Healthcare Outcomes Summit 2023 is proudly hosted by Safer Care Victoria (SCV), in partnership with Health Issues Centre (HIC).  

Aims of the Summit: 

  • Highlight gains, gaps and barriers experienced by Victorian health services in partnering with consumers and implementing SCV’s Partnering in Healthcare Framework with a focus on two priority domains: ‘Communication’ and ‘Working together’.
  • Bring Victorian health services and consumers together to set our minds towards establishing the ‘new norm’ for partnering together in a post-pandemic world.  
  • Understand the key patterns, priorities and challenges shared through the Statements of Intent.

What you’ll gain from participating in the Summit:

  • Learn from the experience of others to avoid reinventing the wheel.
  • See collaboration in action - we are excited to bring you a strong focus on the voice of consumers
  • Connect with consumer and health service peers - identify common ground and opportunities for further collaboration.
  • Take away a suite of resources that demonstrate examples of partnership projects and initiatives from across Victoria’s health system.

Who should attend? 

This event is for you if you work in a Victorian health service and focus on or are passionate about consumer engagement. You will typically operate within or across the following areas: 

  • Patient Experience 
  • Quality and Safety 
  • Consumer and Community Engagement 
  • Consumer Partnerships and Volunteers 

Staff working in these roles are also encouraged to invite other team members with an interest in partnering with consumers to the event.

This event is also for consumers and will be of particular relevance to those who are involved at the organisational and governance level of health services e.g.

  • Community Advisory Committee (CAC) members
  • Consumer Advisory Groups (CAG) members
  • Board members

Accessibility 

The workshops will take place on Zoom in webinar format. Closed captions will be enabled. There will be a scheduled break during the workshop, but participants are welcome to take breaks as needed. Participants are welcome to contribute via the chat and Q&A function. Please let us know if there are any other measures we can put in place to help with accessibility and enable your full participation in the event.

Health Issues Centre (HIC) is Victoria’s peak body for health consumers. HIC builds the capacity of healthcare organisations and consumers to work better in partnership.
