This gathering shall be held on the unceded lands of the Melukerdee people of the South East Nation of Lutruwita. We recognise that these lands, waterways and skies have been places of cultural practice, storytelling and community for over 2000 generations; and continue to be. We acknowledge, with outstretched heart, the sad songs of invasion, dispossession, and attempted genocide that was resisted. We affirm, in awe, strong survival and the continued connection to Country. Big love for the learnings still given despite it all. We pay our respects and send thought out to the melukerdee people, the palawa community more broadly, and the Elders past and present, as we dance and share space. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
