Pat Alger with Jim Rooney and Colin McCaffrey

The McCaffrey & Rooney Present series starts up again on Friday, Oct. 16, with a not to be missed concert of songs and stories by legendary Nashville singer/songwriter Pat Alger with Jim Rooney and Colin McCaffrey.

Pat Alger’s songs have been recorded by dozens of artists in different genres including The Everly Brothers, Brenda Lee, Peter, Paul & Mary, Nanci Griffith, Dolly Parton, Livingston & James Taylor, Don Williams, Ian Tyson, Kathy Mattea, Hal Ketchum, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks.

Some of Pat’s best-known songs are “Once In A Very Blue Moon,” “Goin’ Gone,” “Small Town Saturday Night,” “True Love,” “Like We Never Had A Broken Heart,” “Unanswered Prayers,” and “The Thunder Rolls.”

In 1991, Pat became the Nashville Songwriters Association International “Songwriter of the Year”. The following year he was ASCAP’s “Country Songwriter of the Year.” In 2010, Pat was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and in 2013 he became one of only a handful of songwriters elected to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
