Patch Up Revolution

Event description

Get creative and express yourself, your love of fashion, and of our fabulous city!

Patch Up is your chance to learn hand and machine sewing skills and creating unique patches that can add personality, and extend the life of your clothing and accessories.

This workshop is in collaboration with international Fashion Revolution Week and marks the 8th anniversary of the collapse of Rana Plaza in Bangladesh, when more than 1,100 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. This disaster sparked a movement to evaluate and rethink how we see and treat fashion and the people who make it. By adapting and repurposing our clothes, we honor the work of the designers and makers and reduce the negative impact of fast fashion.

Patch Up will give you practical skills to keep start your journey of creating and recreating your wardrobe in small yet meaningful acts of revolution.

Saturday 24th April, 1-4pm
