Pathways to Financial Security - In person Focus Group for those with lived experience

The Pathways to Financial Security: A Framework for Long-term Financial Recovery Project is being delivered by the Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre (WTRC) as the primary lead and the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety (CWES) as the implementation lead.

This Focus Group that you are registering for is only for those with lived experience and will be an in person event in Shellharbour. 

We are limiting the focus group size, aiming for 12 participants for each focus group. You will only be able to choose and attend one session.  

We recognise that some people will have experience across multiple categories, and we ask you to select which focus group to attend based on what you feel best reflects how you wish to contribute. This helps to ensure that others will also have the opportunity to participate in a focus group.

Honorarium for lived experience participants

Payment is offered to lived experience participants at an hourly rate of $75.00.  A full hourly rate is paid for part hours.

• In-person focus group lived experience participant payment will be $375.00 (5 hours) 
• Online focus group lived experience participant payment will be $225.00 (3 hours)

More information will be supplied to lived experience representatives regarding how to access honorarium payments after registration.  

What you can expect

• Centring of lived experience knowledge and expertise
• Facilitators with experience in working in a trauma-informed environment
• For focus groups with lived experience participants, a counsellor will be available during and after the workshop
• Activities – such as whole group and small group discussion
• Set breaks and time to informal talk with participants  and enjoy refreshments
• Wheelchair-accessible venue with a disabled toilet
• A commitment from facilitators to enable all voices to be heard with respect
• Location of focus groups not made public
• All participants asked to maintain confidentiality and all notes from focus groups to be daintified.
