Description
Art Lab: Patterned plates
Local ceramist artist Carol Hoggart will be teaching an amazing hands on pottery class focusing on sgraffito, a decorative surface technique consisting on applying a top layer of colour onto a base material and then scratching or carving through it to reveal a contrasting underlying layer.
You will have the opportunity of working on two platters, one pre made for you to focus on the sgrafitto and using hand-building, you’ll learn how to construct your own platter, to decorate at home and bring for firing later,
Time: Friday 4th of December from 6 to 8pm
Ages: 18+ years
Cost: $80 per person
All materials provided, glazing and firing included.
