The Palestinian Community of Western Australia (PCWA) warmly invites you to join us for a joyful evening of togetherness as we mark the 2025 Eid Al-Adha. Come along for an event filled with fun, family activities, and special surprises that celebrate our shared heritage and unity.

Let’s come together to honour our roots, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate Palestine — and each other!

What’s the Occasion?

Eid Al-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is a significant Islamic celebration observed by Palestinians and Muslims worldwide. It commemorates Prophet Abraham’s devotion and willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, in obedience to God.

In Palestine, this holiday is marked by deep traditions: visiting loved ones, prayer, shared meals, and the joy of community.

What’s Happening?

This month’s Community Unity Event will be a Family Dinner Special, designed to bring us closer through culture, connection, and celebration. Expect an evening full of meaningful moments and joyful activities, including:

• 🎨 Palestinian arts & crafts (including lolly box decorating)

• 🎲 Interactive family games

• 📸 A photo corner to capture the spirit of the evening

• 🎁 …and a few surprises along the way!

If you’d like to show off your homemade Eid ka'ak or favourite sweets, we’d love for you to bring them along to share! Nothing brings people together like dessert from the heart.

Creative Family Night – Event Schedule

Here’s what the evening will look like:

🕞 3:30 PM – Arrival & Welcome

🎨 3:45 PM – Activities Begin
Get involved in arts & crafts, family games, and a few creative surprises!

💃 5:45 PM – Dabke Dance Break
Let’s hit the floor for some traditional moves and shared joy!

🍽️ 6:00 PM – Dinner is Served
Enjoy a delicious meal together as we celebrate community and culture.

🧩 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM – More Fun & Connection
Time for card games (Tarneeb anyone?), storytelling, spontaneous creativity, and winding down with your Palestinian family.

Pack your Tarneeb deck for a casual tournament, share your tatreez (embroidery) skills with fellow creatives, or start planning a future mansaaf night with new friends. This Family Dinner Special is all about relaxing, connecting, and celebrating our culture together on a Sunday night in.

Everyone in the Palestinian community is warmly welcomed to attend!

• 🗣️ Bilingual Delivery: Every PCWA event is delivered in both English and Arabic to ensure everyone feels included.

• 🍽️ Food & Refreshments: All our gatherings include snacks or a meal, depending on the time and format of the event.

• ❤️ Our Values: Respect, Palestinian pride, and community unity are at the heart of everything we do.

• ✅ Qualified Organisers: Our team includes individuals with qualifications and experience in Working with Children, first aid, and trauma-informed care, to ensure a safe and welcoming space for all.
