Pecha Kucha Night
Description
Platform Arts invites artists or collectives from across Western Regional Victoria to join our open Pecha Kucha nights.
These conversation starters give artists a chance to share their practice and connect with the broader arts community. The Pecha Kucha model supports our curatorially fluid and artist-led approach to engaging local arts practitioners. It facilitates a reciprocal benefit by enabling us to meet local artists and envisage potential collaborations and programming opportunities in real time.
Pecha Kucha nights also provide opportunities for artists to practice radical hospitality by creating a shared meal. It is requested that attendees contribute a share-plate of nibbles.
Whether you're presenting a slide show or not, we welcome you to come and enjoy the across-table conversations on artistic life and practice.
There will be a sign-up sheet on the night. Please ensure your slides are saved as a pdf, for compatibility.
Attendance is free, with food contributed by the attendees. Hosted by our Artistic Director, Amber Smith, the sessions are held every quarter, in line with our seasons.
This event is part of Platform Arts’ anniversary program, 30 Years of Platform Arts, running 22 October to 12 December.
