Event description

Join Peer Rope Melbourne for the Intermediate 2 Shibari classes, a journey into more advanced shibari techniques and concepts. Our classes are designed for those who have completed the Intermediate 1 level or are coming from other schools at a similar level

In these sessions, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn from three talented instructors—Juliette, Harli, and Jess—who will alternate teaching. Each brings a distinct background and set of skills, offering a rich and varied learning experience. With up to 6 suspension points in our room (potentially expanding to 8), we'll provide the opportunity to progress into partial suspensions as you advance.

While safety remains our top priority, we'll guide you towards these new challenges at a pace that ensures your skills and confidence grow steadily. Please note, even if you are transitioning to Intermediate 2, revisiting and perfecting ties from Intermediate 1 is crucial. This foundation will be further built upon, allowing for safe and enjoyable practice.

Feel free to join our Intermediate 1 weekly classes to keep your practice and knowledge sharp. These sessions offer an excellent opportunity to refine your techniques, explore new variations, and ensure a well-rounded understanding of rope bondage.

Intermediate 2 classes will run on Sunday afternoons, 1pm to 3pm fortnightly, from August 18th.

Who is teaching the next classes?

October 27th - Tying with Feeling - Juliette (12 -2pm)

November 10th - Introduction to Uplines (part 1) - Jess (1-3pm)

November 24th - Introduction to Uplines (part 2) - Jess (1-3pm)

*** The schedule of our lessons can vary depending on the overall skill level of the class. At PRM, prioritising safety over speed is paramount. We ensure that each participant can proficiently and safely execute the previous tie before moving on to a new one. ***

Please note that to fully engage in the classes, each participant will require a rope model to tie with. This person will be your practice partner throughout the session, allowing you to refine your techniques. If you are unable to bring a model, you are still welcome to attend, although your participation in certain portions of the class may be limited.

Also, you will need your own ropes (at least 4-6 ropes, each 8 meters long) and safety shears.

The cost for each class is $25 per person or $50 per couple (rigger + rope model).

Here the bio of the PRM Team

Elisa is managing PRM at the moment and she is in Melbourne teaching every two months.

Elisa's bio: Hailing from Rome, Elisa became interested in alternative sexuality early in life. Elisa has been a linchpin of the growing polyamory community since 2012 in Rome before moving to Sydney in 2015.

An experienced kinkster, Elisa has worked as a pro-domme in both her old home and new. Since moving to Sydney, she has opened new avenues into tantra and body awareness practices. She has been involved as a helper and presenter at Xplore Rome, Really Good Sex Festival, Love and Lust Festival, Eros Festival, OZ Kink, Burning Man Community, MindBodySpirit Festival, and more.

Teaching since 2017 in Australia, mainly in Sydney and Melbourne, but also in Newcastle, Canberra, and Brisbane, and since 2019 in the US (San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Oakland) and Europe (Berlin, Vienna, Rome).

She started her journey into the rope scene in 2013, before as a bunny and 3 years later as a rigger. She uses ropes as a form of communication between her and her rope model. She loves sensual and erotic rope play, alternating pleasure and pain during the scene.

She started teaching at Peer Rope Melbourne in April 2021 and now managing it since 2012.

Jess Bio: Jess began exploring Shibari in Brisbane in 2016. She continues to learn the art form while delivering the Shibari Experience for clients. They enjoy the physical exercise aspect that comes with tying different body types and the creativity of pretty patterns on a person's body. Their life journey includes a history of performance arts, embodying spiritual practices and now providing bodywork for clients across Australia.

You may see her performing at Polyfinda Shibari Lounge occasionally. They remain humble to the art and continue to grow and learn from peers and clients respectively.

Juliette Bio: Juliette picked up a rope in the first Melbourne lockdown and hasn’t put it down since. She is fascinated by the many unique ways Shibari connects people through the medium of rope, in a manner that explores, transcends, and challenges our pre-existing notions of what it means to be in a relationship with another human being.

Juliette trains extensively with various local schools and teachers, including Scott Haruteru (Yukimura-ryu), Ash Snare (Rope Dojo), Harley Okami (Adalia Shibari Studio), Von Riga and Melbourne Community Rope, as well as interstate and international teachers Supaku (Kanna-ryu), Tifereth, and Yagami Ren (Yagami-ryu).

She performs nationally and internationally, drawing people into her engaging and entertaining shows, including at Shibari Lounge and various public events. Juliette loves sharing her passions and knowledge with others and brings over a decade of education and group facilitation experience to Peer Rope Melbourne.
