EMUGs in collaboration with The Australia New Zealand Paediatric Emergency Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) group is proud to host the very first paediatric emergency ultrasound conference in Melbourne on March 28, 2026.

This full-day event will feature distinguished, world-renowned experts as guest speakers, alongside hands-on workshops led by experienced facilitators.

Our keynote speakers include Mr. Roger Gent AM, Chief Sonographer at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Dr. Russ Horowitz, MD RDMS. Mr. Gent has authored or co-authored over 70 articles and served on the ASUM DMU Board of Examiners for 20 years. In 2009, he was honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to paediatric ultrasound.

Dr. Russ Horowitz is the Director of Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Director of Ultrasound Education at Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. With over 15 years experience in POCUS education, his special interests include using ultrasound in shock management and developing medical education curricula for POCUS.

The afternoon workshops will offer hands-on sessions with live models, focusing on key paediatric POCUS applications.
