Direct from Wales for this Scottish debut

Pen Dub is a Reggae and Dub producer and DJ from North Wales.

Founder of Skanking Sounds, which is a collective dedicated to

introducing Reggae, Dub and Soundsystem vibes to all corners of Wales

that don’t get the opportunity to hear such sounds and frequencies.

‘Pen’ - a homage to his homeland of Pen Llŷn ( Llyn Peninsula ) & ‘Dub’ -

the main attribute in the process and creation of the music that he makes.

‘Pen Dub’ when translated into Welsh, also means ‘Dub Head’ which is

very fitting, and a lovely double meaning…it was meant to be!

“ I want to be able to play the same kind of fat dubby bangers, with that

big baseline, thumping kicks…but also have a wicked welsh vocalist ,

rapping some serious bars over the top. Or a beautiful, vintage, rootsy

tune, Foundation style, but the vocal are in Welsh, discussing issues and

topics relevant to ourselves and our homeland. That to me is special, and

that is a big focus for me right now.” - Pen Dub.

Expect to hear plenty of Pen Dubs own productions throughout his sets

this summer, alongside some carefully curated classics, and brand new ‘n

good for you tunes, for a varied and eclectic mix of new and old roots, rub

a dub dancehall and steppers.
