Shifting Actions by Shifting Perceptions
Event description
We are offering a series of five 1.5 hour sessions over successive Thursdays. The experience is cumulative so it would be wonderful but not required if you were able to join us for every session. Please choose a ticket for each session you plan to attend or for the full series if you can make it.
Please note the time of the event is displayed in AWST - Australian Western Standard Time. You may need to convert it to your local time, which you can do here.
You are warmly invited to a heartfelt, caring exploration of the systems change we are living through. We are no longer striving to see and make change; we are in it.
People Need People Online is an Online Warm Data Session developed by Nora Bateson that invites groups of people to have online conversations:
- exploring the ways in which we are making sense of the rapid changes currently unfolding
- exploring how these changes are taking place across and through multiple contexts of life
- enabling mutual learning
- providing spaces for intimacy-in-isolation, of humility and integrity, of love and caring, alive, warm and human
We will relate in a new way, a way that shifts our perception of the 'familiar' and opens possibilities for new actions. Now is a time to be in mutual learning, to bring vitality and integrity to the systems into which we are woven.
This particular series is being offered into new economy communities in Australia, New Zealand, Scotland and Iceland, as well as to people from other communities. The transcontextual understanding fostered in these conversations enriches participants' perspectives, vital for those with an interest in systems change.
Here are some rich resources for those considering joining the series:
- "Finding a Way: Will Peoples' Responses to the Emergencies of the Coming Decades be Warm? Or Cold?" by Nora Bateson and Mamphela Ramphele
- A video clip in which Nora gives a bit more context around People Need People Online
- An article sharing further description of Warm Data through several participants' perspectives
Looking forward to seeing you there.
