Target Audience: Aged Care staff, Facility Managers, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, Patient Care Assistants, Kitchen & Admin staff etc.
Education Overview: To develop knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for individual health care professionals working in residential aged care. This includes understanding key principles such as holistic, person-centred care, symptom management, communication, and advanced care planning. By enhancing the competencies of staff, the goal is to ensure that residents with life-limiting illnesses receive compassionate, respectful, and appropriate care, focused on improving quality of life and providing comfort during the end-of-life process. This approach will also foster greater confidence in navigating the emotional and ethical aspects of palliative care within the residential aged care setting.
