Peppermint Grove Community Upgrade Concert & Fundraiser 1
Event description
Note: If you can't make the concert - you can still donate! Check out the options in tickets...
Come for a delightful afternoon concert and shared dinner at Peppermint Grove Studios. It will be an eclectic selection of beautiful sounds from myself (Emily-Rose), Ofri and Felix Lalanne. Songwriters, jazz, folk, grooves, Balkan tunes ... and who knows what else. It will just be good times, good fun, good music.
For those coming to the concert, do bring a plate of food to share for an early sunset dinner afterwards. Also BYO drinks. Doors at 3:30pm. Music at 4pm. :)
Peppermint Grove Studios has been home to so much creativity over the past 6 years. What used to be a dated lower level rumpus room and leaky garage, has been lovingly crafted and built into a friendly recording studio space that has hosted many recordings and live concerts over the past few years.
Right now, things are going through a transition, and I (Emily-Rose), would love the help of our community to make it possible.
My wonderful musical partner in crime, Nick Henderson, is moving his creative practices elsewhere (I am really excited for him!), and I am on a journey to upgrade the studio, up skill myself and even build more accomodation for visiting artists, to make Peppermint Grove Studios a truly welcoming, flexible and creative environment for those who come to visit.
Over the next little while, I'll be putting on fundraising concerts with musicians who have recorded at the studio. You have the option of coming the concert and also of choosing other ways of donating - eg: pre-booking a recording session for 2026, or buying a plant lovingly grown in the garden at Peppermint Grove.
Things that this money will be going towards:
Purchasing some new studio hardware and software such as pre-amps, cables, microphones, mixers, monitors, amps, mixing plug-ins etc. A lot of the studio gear we have been using belongs to Nick, so I'll need to be purchasing my own.
Paying for some audio-engineer mentoring. I'm aiming to be the main producer and audio-engineer at the studio and I still have much to learn. I have loved working with people recently in this role and I'm aiming to up skill by running sessions and having a more experienced engineer present to mentor.
Upgrades to Peppermint Grove's facilities - this is a big one, but I am aiming to build a small studio and bathhouse in the Peppermint Grove garden. It's really important for P Grove to be able to have more space outside of the main house & studio area to house visiting musicians, producers and creatives. This is going to require a DA and a tonne of money, time and planning.
Who has recorded or played at Peppermint Grove so far? It's quite a long list and I would love it to grow:
Magickal Ms G, Ellen Kirkwood's Underwards, Ofri, C J Stranger, Little Clouds, The Good Behaviours, Monstress, Emma Stephenson, Carl Morgan, Wilbur Whitta's Wildfire, Dave Reglar's Rogues, Emmy Ryan, Emily-Rose & The Wild, Isabel Rumble, Jenn Butterworth & Will Pound, Zeal H. (FKA Mia Petra), Magpie Diaries, Liz Frencham, Liminal Space, Where Water Meets, Luke Chapman Trio, Tempe High School, The Squeezebox Trio and many more...
