Event description

Journey through 3 centuries of rhythm as the UQ Percussion Ensemble explores classical masterpieces and vibrant world traditions. Under the direction of UQ percussion faculty David Montgomery, Angus Wilson and Jacob Enoka, this dynamic ensemble presents innovative arrangements of Bach, Ravel and Purcell alongside original works featuring bossa nova grooves, Latin-American bell patterns and military drumming techniques. 

The UQ Percussion Ensemble showcases the talents of percussion students from all levels at the UQ School of Music, from first-year undergraduates to postgraduates, performing alongside their accomplished teachers.

Presented as part of 'Spectrum', The University of Queensland School of Music's annual music festival at UQ St Lucia, and proudly associated with UQ Arts.

Important event information

Seating: Please note, tickets are general admission and some seats are accessed via stairs. Please arrive with your group so you can find seats together. For accessible seating, please contact engagement@hass.uq.edu.au.

Parking: Casual parking is available at UQ St Lucia and parking is free on weekends. More information about parking at UQ. St Lucia campus is conveniently accessible by bus and ferry. More information about public transport options.

Performance: Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the performance at 11:30am.
