If you have completed an introduction to permaculture or have been developing your own permaculture knowledge but want to take things to the next level, two of the Central Coast's most highly regarded permaculture designers and trainers have joined together to offer the Permaculture Design Course locally. 

Run over six weekends from two working permaculture properties, this course will focus on best practice in permaculture design. Learn how to apply the ethics and principles as design tools. Create a plan for your home, (or for someone else), that will increase the ecological health of that site while providing for human needs. Understand how permaculture can be applied as a design system that is relevant to any context, from a balcony to a farm, from a business to a social enterprise. 

Saturdays will be taught by Sandi Pointner at Eagle Ridge Farm, a 20 acre property in the early stages of permaculture implementation that includes animals systems and extensive earth works and water catchment. Sandi is an experienced permaculture designer and trainer, currently consulting professionally as part of the Permacoach team.

Sundays will be spent at the home of Meg McGowan and Graham King, best know as the founders of Permacoach. Their property has been under permaculture for over 20 years and includes an established forest garden and food systems that do not rely upon domestic animal inputs. 

Students will complete this course with a deep appreciation of both the theory and practical application of permaculture. They will have a finished concept plan for the site of their choice and will also have the opportunity to be part of an ongoing community of support.

Students will be required to purchase Rosemary Morrow's Earth User's Guide to Permaculture prior to the course. Chapters will be allocated for self directed learning between weekends with discussion of the content and extended learning during class. This format allows us to focus on practical designing and hands on learning during class time.

The 72 hour course follows the curriculum set down by Bill Mollison as a requirement for awarding a permaculture design certificate (PDC). Students successfully completing the course will be awarded a PDC. 

In the event we need to cancel or reschedule due to Covid restrictions, you will be entitled to either a full refund or a place on our next PDC.
