Leesa's Little Farm
Event description
I’m Leesa and I’ve lived on the northside surrounded by beautiful Moreton Bay forever and love it!
I was first introduced to the concept of Permaculture when my future mother-in-law gave me her copy of ‘Introduction to Permaculture’ by Bill Mollison in 1998. It just seemed to ‘make sense’ and really resonated with me. It has been part of my life choices ever since.
Our unique 8-acre property in Deception Bay is surrounded by suburbia and is only a couple of minutes away from Moreton Bay. It was established in 2009 using permaculture design principles. There is a kitchen/herb garden, large market style vegetable garden, food forest, chickens, worm farming, BSFL farming, dragon fruit production, a community garden area and regeneration areas.
I’m passionate about supporting decentralised local food systems and encouraging people to grow their own, even if it’s just a pot of herbs! I love learning about soil and am passionate about waste management.
I’ve studied a couple of PDCs over the years and have recently branched into Permaculture Education to meet the needs of our local region.
