    Event description

How are we to live? How are we to conserve, restore, gather, grow, reclaim and renew? And do all this at a time of growing crises? It's a time for action - not just a taking to the streets but to act according to our values every day in our households and communities.

With what we have on hand and within the limits of our cultural context, how are we to perform life? The constant asking of this vital question is central to the way Artist as Family (Patrick, Meg, Woody + Zero) lives. We look forward to unpacking the whys and hows of our built, biological and behavioural life during this tour of Tree Elbow, our 13 year-old permaculture property on Dja Dja Wurrung country.

How do we live without cars?
How do we live without supermarkets?
How do we live without toilet paper?
How do we live so richly below the poverty line?
What does permaculture neopeasantry look like up close?
In a world of endless choices, why set limits?

The tour price is $35 (plus booking fee) per person and includes afternoon tea.

While we love kids, and host a range of activities especially for them, we do prefer if children are not brought along on these house and garden tours. The tours are very information dense and our property is small, and in the past people have complained about missing out on what is being said because of babies crying or kids talking loudly. Older kids are welcome to come along at no charge. Many thanks for your understanding.

We look forward to sharing with you our built, behavioural and biological systems,

    Meg, Patrick, Blackwood + Zero
