Permaculture in Action - Slow and Simple Solutions to Build Resilient Communities
Event description
As a community it is our responsibility to ensure the younger generation are cared for, supported and provided with the knowledge and opportunities to understand and care for our earth. All adults - parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, caregivers, educators - anyone! - are responsible to ensure our children grow into resilient and capable members of our communities.
When applied to parenting, and caring for children in general, permaculture invites us to slow down, observe, and respond with care. It encourages us to create supportive environments for our children, nurture resilience, and build rhythms that align with the natural world, all while simplifying the demands in a world that often feels fast and overwhelming.
Join Sarah [@sarahfromthecosmos] and Sam [@acaciaplay] for “Slow and Simple Solutions to Build Resilient Communities - Permaculture in Action”, a thoughtful and hands-on gathering where we’ll explore how the wisdom of permaculture can support us in supporting and raising resilient, grounded children, families and community.
While any little ones engage in outdoor exploration and sustainable experiences with Sam in the Acacia Play Area, the grown-ups will settle in for an open and heart-led discussion with Sarah, exploring how permaculture ethics and principles can support a simpler, more sustainable family life.
About Sam and Sarah
Sarah has a strong commitment in supporting families to slow down and live more simply and sustainably and believes that the permaculture ethics and principles can offer practical support in doing so.
With a strong commitment in connecting children to nature and the seasons Sam aims to ensure all children have access to the outdoors and a healthy relationship with the natural world through play, gardening and by simply just being children in the outdoors.
