Permie Zoomie June 2025
Event description
PERMACULTURE ON THE MOVE
We all need somewhere to live, yes, even Permies. Some people own their home, some rent, either by choice or necessity - or perhaps even both. Renting accommodation can create challenges when moving from location to location.
A common error in people's thinking is that Permaculture is all about the garden, and while gardening is an important aspect of self reliance and food production, there are many more aspects and considerations when it comes of Permaculture Thinking.
- How do we build our temporary Permaculture Life with the long view, knowing that at some time in the future, we will need to pack up, move, unpack and set up again?
- How do we transport valuable plants and garden infrastructure?
- How do we transport our home and belongings with as little footprint as we can?
- What decisions do we make about our infrastructure and belongings knowing that these decisions will affect our ability to relocate with a Permaculture mindset?
Michael Wardle, a Permaculture Practitioner from Queensland is currently living this scenario, has not long ago undertaken a complete relocation, and is in the process of restoring his setup. Michael is living the journey [sic], and will be sharing his experiences and wisdom with us.
