Permission Granted: Performance Praxis
Event description
Jess Lesosky and Sheshtin Honey lead a workshop on using intersecting art forms—movement, sound design, conversation, and play—to gently disrupt beliefs and behaviours shaped by societal norms.
Permission Granted is a bold, playful, and exploratory performance project. This workshop invites participants to unpack and play with the intersections of pleasure, laughter, power and social conditioning in our lives. In this artist-led workshop, collaborating artists Jess and Shesh will encourage participants to query and gently disrupt beliefs and behaviours shaped by societal norms and ingrained assumptions.
"Facilitated by two women with vulvas, bringing both partnered, solo, and queer perspectives, this workshop is grounded in lived experience and invites an open, inclusive, and courageous space for exploration. Our practice is non-hierarchical and collaborative, embracing horizontal leadership where all voices are valued. Through intersecting art forms—movement, sound, conversation, and play—we’ll create space to experience and contribute to the co-creation of new, embodied work."
