Permission to Shine | A Free Community Connection Night in Mona Vale

A little more community. A little more connection.

As adults, it can be surprisingly difficult to find real community.

We can live in the same neighbourhood, visit the same cafés, walk the same beaches and pass the same people every day without ever really getting to know each other.

Permission to Shine is a small attempt to change that.

For two hours, we'll bring together a small group of people for conversation, laughter, stories and a few fun activities designed to help us move beyond the usual small talk and actually connect.

There'll be an opportunity to share something that lights you up.

It might be something you're proud of, something you've overcome, something you've created, a passion you love talking about, a hidden talent, a ridiculous skill or simply something that makes you happy.

But there is absolutely no pressure to share.

Say a lot. Say a little. Or simply listen and be curious about the people around you.

Because the idea at the heart of the evening is simple:

Curiosity beats impressiveness.

You don't need to be interesting. Be interested.

This isn't about having the best story in the room. It's about being genuinely curious about the people in it and giving them the opportunity to be curious about you too.

Expect some laughs, some interesting conversations and hopefully a few moments that surprise you.

No networking. No pitching. No judgement. No pressure to perform.

Just a room full of people taking a couple of hours to celebrate themselves, appreciate each other and make our little corner of the world feel a bit more connected.
