Personal practices to live sustainably.
Event description
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global, non-profit organisation that helps young people develop leadership skills, meet inspiring people and makes an impact in our local communities. We have one shared belief in improving our society and environment for future generations.
Did you know that Australians could save more than $600 million on our water and energy bills just by using more water-efficient appliances and products? The amount of water we can save by then is about 800,000 megalitres which is more than the whole of Sydney Harbour. Australia could implement 100% renewable energy if everyone contributed to this change.
You will be hearing from Mylene Turban, who is a Process Engineer in the sustainability industry and a Workshop Facilitator of Climate Collage. She is also the event Organiser for Transition Bondi and now leads a beach Clean up Group called Responsible Runners.
You will also be hearing from Clayton, a mechanical Engineer who participated in sustainable projects and won 2nd place for a Solar Decathalon 2018 - to design, construct and operate solar-powered houses that are sustainable, stylish and innovative.
You will be learning about:
• Understanding the perception of sustainability
• Spreading awareness of sustainability and the impacts on personal lives
• The consequences of continuing unsustainable practices
• Creating practical measures any individual can do to tackle sustainability
You will leave the event with guides and resources on how you can join the #Climate Movement and make your contribution to the world. In order for you to leave with as much value as possible, we ask you to attend the event with an open and curious mind. We look forward to seeing you at the event!
