    Event description

Perth, BWA Chats, Cheese & Wine: Hiding the Leader Within, Sitfles the Leader Outside

Join Business Women Australia members and guests as we explore leadership in a new way, discovering more about ourselves and each other, in a safe, guided roundtable conversation.

This month our facilitator and host, Vida Carlino will guide our courageous sharing about the times when we have been faithful or unfaithful to our leadership gifts. We will explore the times when we have been faithful to ourselves, honouring our authentic leadership. We will reflect on the experiences where we have embraced a natural way of being ourselves, building trusting teams and communities.

If you are ready to face your inner truth and take time out to explore what leadership really looks like for you, this conversation, over a wine and cheese, will allow timely realisations.  Hiding your unique leadership ability ultimately stifles your talent, hinders growth and recognition. Without understanding and honouring authentic leadership, we encourage acting out a false style of leading others which leads to lower expectations, impeding personal and professional development, and destroying potential.

This month we delve into the concept of “fixing” and how the common culture of advising and solutions can undermine the value and empowerment of others. Through a courageous conversation, with a wine and cheese, we will share insights that come from our lived experiences as leaders, explorers and women navigating a complex environment that expects so much from us all.

Understanding that best intentions sometimes drive us to help others, often in the wrong ways. So often we want to fix, in order to relieve the pain we see in others, and our discomfort. We will explore how the constant “fixing” and “telling” ultimately rob others of the opportunity to build resilience and resourceful strategies.

As leaders and team players we are keen to develop the skills to empower others and help those around us be the best versions of themselves. Believing people are not broken frees us to support and uplift them without trying to 'fix' them. If this resonates with you, we welcome you to join us in this open, deep conversation.  We will share the times when advice was not what we needed, and consider the experiences that foster a space for growth, acceptance, mutual understanding and empowerment.

If you have been looking to connect more deeply with other business and professional women, this conversational event is for you.

Book today as the event is limited to 16 business women. Chatham House rules apply. What is said or happens, stays in the space.
