Description

Please read our FAQ before attending the picnic - thank you!

Come along to the Girl Meet Girl Sapphic Social Picnic to meet fellow queer people in the community! 🌸

If you identify as a (cis or trans) woman, non-binary, or queer and are open to meeting new (sapphic) folks in a romantic or non-romantic way, our social picnic is a fun and relaxed way to connect without needing to use a dating app.

Our picnics are scheduled for one hour to encourage everyone to arrive within the first 10-15 minutes, creating an engaging atmosphere from the start. However, they often continue longer if the vibe feels right.

What to Bring:

  • A snack to share

  • Non-alcoholic drinks

  • Any outdoor games you’d enjoy playing on the grass

The GMG Ambassador will welcome you and guide you through some fun ice-breaker questions to spark conversations.

Feel free to bring along your sapphic (lesbian, bi+ and bi-curious) friends and be open to meeting new people!

FAQs

  • Can I bring my dog to the picnic?

Pet dogs aren’t able to attend our picnics. While we understand how comforting animals can be, we’ve found that dogs can create distraction and disrupt the calm, connection focused nature of the space. For this reason, only registered therapy and guide dogs are permitted to attend due to their training.

These picnics are designed to feel low pressure and supportive, especially for those who experience social anxiety, with no expectation to participate beyond what feels comfortable.

  • I’m under 18 or have a child or children under 18. Can they attend?

No. Our picnics are strictly for adults aged 18 and over. The conversations and topics that may arise are intended for an adult space, and we also ask for full presence and attention to support meaningful connection. For similar reasons to our no pets policy, children aren’t able to attend, as their needs can understandably shift focus and change the dynamic of the group.

  • I can’t attend the event. What do I need to do?

Nothing at all. We appreciate you RSVPing, as it helps our Ambassadors get a general sense of expected numbers. As this is a free event, we always factor in that some people may not be able to attend on the day, so no shows are completely okay. While you’re welcome to let us know, it isn’t necessary.

  • What’s the picnic agenda?

All of our picnics follow the same gentle structure: gathering, brief introductions, conversation starters, sharing food, optional games, and time to relax. Because the space is lightly facilitated, we encourage arriving on time or within the first 10 minutes to help maintain flow and respect the group. If you’re running late, please let your Ambassador know via the Messenger chat, or by direct message if you already have their permission.

  • How do I contact the Girl Meet Girl Ambassador?

The best way to reach out is through the Girl Meet Girl community spaces.

You can find the Facebook group at facebook.com/groups/girlmeetgirl
or follow along on Instagram at @girl_meet_girl

The Messenger chat community link is shared regularly in the Facebook group and Instagram stories.. check there for the most up-to-date link to join.
