Event description

How do we keep lice, borer and moths from eating our collection?

Canterbury Museum Associate Registrar Erna Tidy talks about how we protect the collection from pests like silverfish, clothing moths, book lice and beetles. She will describe how we prevent, identify, and manage pest infestations at Canterbury Museum.

She will also reveal how beetles are sometimes employed by museums around the world for a very specific task.

Erna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Art History, and a Masters in Heritage Conservation from the University of Auckland, and has volunteered and worked in various roles in the GLAM sector since 2014. Erna began her role as the Associate Registrar at Canterbury Museum in 2020.

A Friends of the Canterbury Museum talk.
