Pet First Aid - October 2026

How prepared are you to support your pet during an emergency?

Build your emergency preparedness skills and learn how to care for your pets when veterinary assistance may be delayed or unavailable. This practical, hands-on workshop will give you the confidence to respond in an emergency and help keep your pets safe.

This year, we're offering both 3.5-hour and 5.5-hour courses to make this valuable training accessible to more members of our community. Suitable for dog, cat and small pet owners, with no prior experience required.

Both workshops cover:

• Pet wellness checks

• Taking vital signs in an emergency

• CPR and rescue breathing

• Managing bleeding and applying bandages

The 5.5-hour workshop also covers:

• Fractures and limb injuries

• Bites and stings

• Poisoning and snake bites

• Safe transport of injured pets

Both workshops are accredited training courses. Participants who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate valid for two years.
