Painting Pet Portrait on Ceramics
Description
Two dates to choose from:
Saturday 18th April, 9.30am-12pm
Wednesday 6th May, 9.30am-12pm
Have a go at painting your own portrait or favourite animal on clay in this beginner friendly workshop.
To begin, you will have a choice to make 2-4 small ceramic pieces using white midfire clay. You can choose from magnets, pendants, palm size bowls, cups, or spoons. We will then use a printed photo of your pet as reference and use underglaze paint. Not confident with drawing or painting? No worries, you will be shown some techniques to draw, trace, or transfer your reference photo onto the clay. We will be employing sgraffito techniques to add details and textures.
Your ceramic will be fired and ready to collect (an email notification will be sent) approx. 4 weeks after the day of the workshop.
All materials and light refreshments are provided.
What to bring:
Closed in footwear
Your own water bottle
Old shirt/apron
A passport size photo of your pet/s or favourite animal
Tips: Since you'll be working with wet clay, short nails are recommended.
Location: This workshop will be held at my private studio in Parkwood. Access will be announced via email. Please note, the venue is not suitable for young children under 12.
